Authorities in China’s 32mn-population megacity Chongqing have said those who have Covid symptoms can now return to work “as norma” after admitting the outbreak is “impossible” to track.
The official announcement on Sunday said “mildly symptomatic” state workers can continue their duties so long as they undertake personal protections according to their condition, mirroring a similar move in Zhejiang Province also on Sunday.
Residents were also advised not to take unnecessary virus tests with some exceptions, such as care homes, schools and prisons.
